Big Woody Island Tours

explore big woody island in the great sandy strait

Uncover the history of Big Woody Island on the Queensland coast with a 6 hour tour departing from Hervey Bay.

Woody Island, also known as Tooliewah by the Butchulla people, is located between Fraser Island and Hervey Bay. It’s also home to twin lighthouses that were built in 1866 and were later World-Heritage listed thanks to their contribution to the maritime history of nearby areas Hervey Bay and Maryborough.

This tour will allow you to step back in time as we take the 750 m steep hike from the historic kerosene shed to the historic Middle Bluff Lighthouse, where you snap some impressive photos with views across to Fraser Island.

This tour will cater for a maximum of 20 people on board a sailing yacht with lunch and refreshments included on the day.

You can grab a spot on an upcoming tour for $100 per person.
