Yes, and the Great Sandy Strait makes it easier than most places. You're in calm protected water the whole way with K'gari sheltering you from the open swell. Safety gear and a full briefing come standard, and families charter with us every season with little ones on board. As a small business with a little one at home, we've seen the incredibles positives from giving kids time spent out in nature together.

No licence is needed, and you don't need previous sailing experience (just a sense of adventure). Before you head out we'll run through a full safety and operational briefing covering everything you need to know: navigation, anchoring, the sails, the systems on board. Most of our guests are first-timers and do beautifully. We're also just a phone call away once you're out there.

More than you'd expect, and none of it on a screen. Swimming off the back deck, spotting dolphins, dugongs and turtles, fishing, exploring beaches, taking the tender ashore. You can also hire our inflatable pontoon for $50 per night, which doubles as a netted swim area. Most parents tell us the hard part is getting them off the boat at the end.

Comfortably. Our catamarans have multiple double cabins and room to spread out, so everyone gets their own corner rather than living on top of each other. Tell us how many of you there are and the ages, and we'll point you to the layout that works best.

Minimum three nights. We'd usually suggest five if you can manage it, because the pace really settles in around day three and the per-night rate drops the longer you stay.

You've got the entire Great Sandy Strait, from Rooney's Point and Wathumba Creek in the north down the strait to Gary's Anchorage. That's a long stretch of protected water with dozens of anchorages, creeks, beaches and snorkelling spots in between. We'll go through our favourites at the briefing.

Trade winds here are south-easterly most of the year, and the great thing about this stretch of coast is that there's always somewhere to tuck into. Your briefing covers where to go and when, and we stay in touch with you throughout your charter.
