What to bring with you for a five star experience on the water
One of the biggest questions after anyone books a bareboat yacht experience with us is - ‘what do I need to bring?’ and you’d be surprised that the lists of necessities for you to bring to have an epic time on the waters around Fraser Island is actually fairly small.
All of the yachts and vessels within the fleet at Fraser Island Boat Charters come fully stocked with cutlery, kitchenware, wine glasses (of course), fridge, freezer, BBQ, bedding, towels and much more. However, to make sure you are fully stocked for a great time on the water, you’ll want to bring the following items.
All the food to stock up the kitchen
Don’t forget to plan ahead and gather all the food necessary to keep the tribe fed for the duration of the trip. There’s no need to feel restricted in what can be prepared on board - our boats feature fully kitted out kitchens with oven and stove top plus an outdoor BBQ on the back decks. Top tip: There are a host of great local shops, markets and butchers that can help you out in Hervey Bay. If you’re planning something a little special and would like a sunset cheese platter - let us know and we can sort that one for you!
Sunsets on the water calls for a drink or two
Don’t forget to stock up that fridge on board so you can enjoy the bliss of sunset with views of Fraser Island with a cheeky glass (or two) of wine, beer or your drink of choice. You can BYO as much as you like with large eskies also available on the back deck for easy access, cheers!
Snorkelling & Fishing Gear
You’ll of course want to pack the swimmers to make the most of some great swimming spots in Fraser Coast waters but don’t forget any extra equipment like snorkelling masks and fins to get up and close with our marine life. The fishos will also want to pack all the gear to make the most of one of Australia’s most diverse fisheries in the Great Sandy Strait.
That sense of adventure
The most important item of all.. If you’re embarking on a bareboating trip make sure you bring a sense of adventure (and humour) with you! As you will be part of the crew ensuring the vessel is safe out on our waters, you’ll all need to go with the flow and chip in from time to time. If you treat the trip as the ultimate adventure - you’ll be creating memories that will last a lifetime!
